The Raytheon Operations and Supply Chain team has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Manager, Commodity Management and Sourcing, within Energetics & Propulsion Commodity Strategy. We are looking for an experienced candidate to develop commodity strategies aimed at minimizing supplier risk, accelerating time to market, and driving cost efficiency. The candidate would be responsible for one or more commodities within the Energetics & Propulsion portfolio, which consists of rocket motors, engines, batteries, firing devices, and warheads.
In this role, you will generate commodity strategies that support Raytheon’s Strategic Business Units (SBU). You will engage cross-functional teams in developing your strategy. Once developed, you will coordinate with the SBUs to integrate the strategies into their Material Program Strategies (MPS). Also, you will work with Product Commodity to transition strategies to execution. You will be responsible for managing and maintaining the Grow, Maintain, Reduce, Exit (GMRE) for your respective commodities.
Additionally, you will need to support both RTX and SBU level Strategic Sourcing Reviews. In the process of developing your strategy, you may lead market research analysis through Request for Information (RFI) and/or Request for Proposals (RFP). This can also include conducting Tradeoff Source Selection Process (TSSP) for strategic sourcing strategies. You will work with both internal and external customers to ensure strategy success.
What You Will Do:
- Generate Energetics and Propulsion commodity strategies for Raytheon
- Support RTX and business level Strategic Sourcing Reviews
- Grow, Maintain, Reduce (GMRE) Supplier Management and Maintenance
- Lead Tradeoff Source Selection Process (TSSP)
- Design and lead market research and sourcing strategies
- Lead cross functional / cross business strategy teams
- Understand supply base trends
- Transition strategies to execution teams
- Identify and vet new and alternative sources
Qualifications You Must Have:
- Typically requires a University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 10 years prior relevant experience, or An Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years experience
- Experience with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and the Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS)
- The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
Qualifications We Prefer:
- Experience in strategy development (market research, identify opportunities and threats, analyze data) and develop plans to materialize strategy
- Experience in conducting Tradeoff Source Selection Process
- Experience running cross functional teams and leading without authority
- Demonstrated ability to shape results in support of objectives, including ability to communicate and influence executive leadership.
- Excellent communication skills and proven ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with complex customers
- Demonstrated ability to work within a team environment and develop effective relationships based on respect and trust
- Excellent time management and organizational skills are essential
- Knowledge of the commodity markets
- Cross-functional experience in Finance, Integrated Supply Chain, Business Development, or Program Management
- Technical (Engineering) experience or aptitude to gain technical product knowledge
- Flexibility to travel, if needed
- Advanced cost and price analysis skills
