Job Description

Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

This Executive Director role will lead the overall development and implementation of access strategies and tactics to support the BMS Hematology and Cell Therapy portfolio.  This position will be directly responsible for all inline brands and assets in preparation for launch.

This individual will manage the Access Strategy team and will work closely with Market Access Strategic Accounts, Medical, Pricing, HEOR, Patient Access Support Services (PASS), and the broader CT and Hematology brand teams to optimize patient access to BMS therapies.  Based in New Jersey, key responsibilities include:

  • Manage the launch of potentially 4+ new indications in the CT portfolio over the next year while supporting the growth of the inline business through market and customer expansion opportunities.
  • Defend access across all brands by leveraging understanding of the customer and competitive landscape to anticipate and pre-empt future competitor moves and develop innovative strategies and tactics
  • Act as the overall lead for Access Strategy for the Hem/CT portfolio, bringing key learnings across the team and representing the franchise as part of the Hem-Onc-CT Access Strategy Leadership Team to ensure consistency of approach in securing access for BMS products.   
  • Help shape the Hem-Onc-CT strategy to the evolving healthcare landscape inclusive of policy changes, payment reform (EOM), and evolving provider dynamics.
  • Lead development of access strategy and execution plans across payers, organized customers, pathways, and other access-influencing organizations.
  • Support strategic launch plans for new cell-mod assets, inclusive of pricing, distribution, and value proposition development.
  • Develop brand specific payer resources and act as a liaison with all cross-functional teams to ensure pull-through activities are aligned with brand objectives and priorities. 
  • Collaborate with Oncology-Solid Tumor team to share learnings across the hematology and oncology business units that will drive franchise success.
  • Accountable for seeking cross-functional and field team input into access strategy and serve as business unit primary point person for the Account Executives and brand teams
  • Develop internal working partnerships with Worldwide Access, HEOR, Pricing, Advocacy / Policy, and Legal to drive critical decision and ensure proper execution.
  • Provide input into payer and organized customer contracting strategy
  • Lead the market access portion of brand and functional planning for Hem/CT.  Communicate access-specific strategies to internal business partners for incorporation into brand planning and field tool development.   Manage team budget across products.
  • Leads the development of the access value story, supported by credible clinical, health economics and quality of life messages to justify brand value; interfaces with HEOR team to guide evidence generation efforts that support payer value story development.
  • Ensures alignment on access strategy and key account plans and initiatives by partnering internally with Contracting Strategy, Account Management, Brand Marketing, and Corporate Affairs
  • Develop, recruit, and retain the best people and be accountable for development plans and employee engagement

Qualifications:

Candidates should have exceptional interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to effectively and efficiently drive performance within a matrix organization.  8+ years of leadership experience and 12+ years in pharmaceuticals and several years of marketing and market access experience are required.
