Webasto is seeking highly motivated candidates that have experience ensuring excellent technical performance and optimum availability of production equipment to join our team as an International Corporate Paralegal I(full-time) at our facility in Auburn Hills, MI. Telecommuting; Hybrid- 3 days in office, 2 days remote.

 

 

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist the General Counsel by providing legal support in drafting, analyzing and approving contracts and agreements needed to conduct international business transactions for the Mexican entities of the Webasto Group, such as distribution and sales agreements, services agreements, and other supply chain legal documents. 
• Maintain the corporate structure of Webasto entities in Mexico by drafting corporate resolutions. Coordinate with external attorneys on litigation, transactional and immigration matters for Webasto entities in the US and Mexico. 
• Participate as a Local Compliance Officer for the Americas region for the internal whistleblower compliance program system by reviewing, investigating, and implementing sanctions on received complaints. 
• Assist attorneys with drafting and reviewing corporate documents including but not limited to board resolutions, minute meetings, loan agreements. 
• Assist attorneys with drafting and reviewing transactional documents such as Force Majeure Letters, Letters of Adequate Assurances, Master supplier Agreements, Terms and Conditions’ and resolving other inquiries from business units within the Americas region. 
• Support business units and attorneys on international trade matters that impact the flow of trade within our partners and affiliates by researching trade agreements and CBP regulations on import and export controls such as antidumping countervailing measurements.  
• Support the Brazilian, Mexican and US entities on implementing corporate decisions according to corporate global policies by verifying and enforcing board resolutions for compliance matters. 
• Participate in the company’s immigration program by supporting Human Resources in creating and implementing immigration policies and managing employees’ immigration inquiries throughout the different stages of their visa processes.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

• US Bachelor’s Degree (or a foreign equivalent) in Law or Legal Studies or in a closely-related field  and at least five (5) experience in the job offered or in a closely-related legal occupation such as Law Associate, Legal Analyst, or Paralegal.  
• In the alternative, will accept a US. Master’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Law or Legal studies plus three (3) years of experience in the job offered or in a closely related legal occupation such as Law Associate, Legal Analyst, or Paralegal. 
• Experience must include six (6) months of experience in employment-based immigration, and two (2) years of experience with corporate cross-border business transactions (including drafting corporate resolutions and contractual agreements) and the related Mexican legal requirements; international trade agreements and customs requirements between the Americas free trade zones, AND sanction compliance.  
• Must also have completed undergraduate or graduate coursework in International Trade Law and Antitrust Law.
