Join the Cleveland Clinic team, where you will work alongside passionate caregivers and provide patient-first healthcare. The J71 Cardiac Step-down Unit is part of Cleveland Clinic’s Heart, Vascular and Thoracic institute. Since 1995, Cleveland Clinic has been recognized as of the top hospitals for Cardiology in the country.
The Cardiovascular Step-Down Units (J71, J72, J73) are fast-paced, telemetry-monitored units specializing in the care of cardiac patients requiring close observation and advanced nursing support. Together, these units provide 73 beds (J71: 25 beds; J72: 24 beds; J73: 24 beds) and serve a focused patient population, including individuals recovering from myocardial infarction, post–cardiac interventions, chronic heart failure, dysrhythmias, and pulmonary hypertension.
Care is delivered through a highly collaborative, interdisciplinary team environment that includes registered nurses, patient care nursing assistants, physicians, cardiology specialists, respiratory therapists, and care coordinators. Team members work closely to ensure safe, efficient, and patient-centered care, with an emphasis on continuous cardiac monitoring and timely clinical response.
J71 functions as a 25-bed unit, while J72 and J73 each support 24 beds. Following orientation, caregivers may float across all three units, promoting flexibility, consistency in care delivery, and strong team integration across the cardiovascular step-down service line.
