Staff DT Field Coordinator

Western Midstream (WES) Digital Technology (DT) organization is seeking a DT Field Coordinator located in the surrounding West Texas Delaware Basin Field. The DT Field Coordinator role is the Primary IT facing interface to the heart of WES operations, focusing on IT infrastructure in the WES operations environment. The ideal candidate will wear many hats, adapting to the needs of the business in the areas of field and industrial networks, firewalls, and related infrastructure; all to enable WES operations for business success. 

 

Qualifications: 

• Experience in IT/Network infrastructure support is required (3-5+ years) 

• CCNP or equivalent experience; industrial networking and related protocols a plus 

• Familiarity with Palo Alto firewalls preferred. 

• Understanding of field wireless infrastructure a huge plus 

• Comfortable traveling within the field to WES locations to provide related IT/OT infrastructure support very often (driver’s license required) 

• Excellent people skills and customer service focus 

• Use the Service-Now system and work with outsourced Help Desk personnel 

• Self-motivated team player who can work with little direct supervision 

• Travel to other WES locations outside Delaware Basin will be required as necessary (10% or less expected) 

• Ability to work overtime/weekends and be on call as required 

• Ability to lift a few ounces up to 50 pounds. Physical ability and flexibility to crawl under furniture to make computer connections 

 

Responsibilities: 

• On-site support & troubleshooting: Provide on-site IT and OT (Operational Technology) related technical support, resolving hardware, software, and network/infrastructure issues, including identification, triage, analysis, processing, and ensuring timely resolution to minimize downtime. 

• Installation and Maintenance: Install, configure, and maintain network equipment, and other DT infrastructure at field locations. Work with Senior DT Team members on infrastructure designs. 

• Training & Documentation: Maintain accurate records of DT assets, configurations and issues. Create documentation for troubleshooting procedures and guides. 

• Coordination: Collaborate with DT teams, vendors, and other relevant stakeholders to ensure seamless integration and operation of systems in the field. 

• Security Compliance: Enforce and ensure compliance with IT & OT security policies and procedures to safeguard data and systems in the field. 

• Remote Support: Provide remote assistance to field connectivity when necessary, using various communication tools. 

• Inventory Management: Manage and track DT inventory, including hardware, software licenses, and peripherals. 

• Upgrades and Enhancements: Coordinate and implement upgrades, patches, and enhancements to DT systems to ensure optimal performance. 

• Communication: Communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, providing updates and reports on DT activities in the field. 

• Emergency Response: Act as a point of contact for DT-related emergencies in the field, collaborating with relevant teams to address critical issues promptly. 

• Field Assessments: Conduct assessments of DT needs in field locations and provide recommendations for improvements. 

• Vendor Management: Work with external vendors for procurement, support, and maintenance of DT equipment and services. 

 

Education:  

• High School Diploma/GED required; Bachelor’s degree preferred in the Information technology field 

 

Travel Requirements: 

• 0-10% 

 

Work Schedule: 

• This position follows a hybrid schedule working in office Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and working remote Wednesday and Friday. Monday-Thursday are 9 hours and Fridays are 4 hours.
