This position is responsible for technical delivery to support the HR & Recruiting Organization (also known as The People Team), drive operational excellence and improve candidate & employee experience at MongoDB. The successful candidate will partner closely with the People Operations teams, determine a long term technology strategy, and execute projects in conjunction with People function against an aligned roadmap. Project delivery will consist of both process and technology improvements. You will oversee a global team of business systems analysts and engineers responsible for product management and technical execution. You will be the subject matter expert on HR & Recruiting technology while also having deep knowledge of associated processes across Recruiting, Core HR, Learning and Development and Compensation and Benefits.  You have seen what “good” looks like at scale in terms of both processes and technology. You are a creative thinker, you are collaborative, you are a problem solver and you find ways to continuously improve. You challenge the status quo, and do not accept the answer, “because it has always been this way”, while supporting executives in making challenging and complex decisions that enable MongoDB to hire and retain the best employees on the planet.  You are comfortable communicating to C-level audiences and can advise on strategic trade offs. 

Responsibilities

  • Deliver technology improvements in Core HRIS, Learning and Development, Compensation and Benefits, and Talent Acquisition.
  • Oversee a global team of business analysts and engineers who are both employees and technology partners.
  • Develop rolling twelve month roadmaps in partnership with business, and deliver against project targets
  • Work across TechOps to ensure that all cross-functional programs are properly staffed and can successfully execute, including managing dependencies on internally developed technology
  • Be an integral member of the People Leadership Team and act as the trusted technology advisor.  Specifically, facilitate discussions with key stakeholders across functions and levels, advise on product and process maturity, data sensitivity (such as GDPR), potential tradeoffs, scope creep and provide implementation options including crawl-walk-run phases 
  • Consult and provide recommendations for gaps and areas of opportunities with scalable and standardized HR technology solutions where possible 
  • Facilitate cross-functional discussions to gain consensus and drive the execution of products and features from inception through production rollout and support
  • Play a key role in driving effective change management and communication on technical delivery to non-technical audiences, explaining the “what”, the “how” and the “why”
  • Manage technology operations to ensure system uptime and data quality
  • Partner with key vendors to ensure best-in-class system implementations, including appropriate levels of customization and integration
  • Pay down existing technical debt in HRIS platforms and prevent additional debt from accumulating without oversight and a plan to pay down in the future
  • People management for a global team, providing coaching, career development, performance management
  • Lead and facilitate cross functional team meetings to initiate and implement company wide strategic initiatives (with a "what's in it for me" approach to collect buy in from stakeholders)
  • Revamp/Redesign internal processes used by the business and TechOps to reduce/eliminate project delays (ex: PD Doc, Scoping Doc etc)
  • Implement project metrics to hold teams accountable

Qualifications

  • Hands-on change management experience, as well as proven success in leading HR & Recruiting technology projects with a strong understanding of both technical and HR operations, ideally with a breadth of experience including human capital management, talent acquisition, learning and development, performance and growth, benefits, and HR compliance
  • 10 or more years of experience in an IT business systems, business operations, product management, or a consulting role responsible for driving HRIS service delivery
  • 8 years or more of people management, including at least 5 years on the second line of management
  • Extensive knowledge of best-in-breed HRIS applications including but not limited to SuccessFactors, Greenhouse, CultureAmp, etc.
