Private-duty Companion

We are currently seeking to fill a Private-Duty Companion position.

OceanView at Falmouth is a local, family-owned business, and is home to a delightful group of friendly seniors with a wealth of life experiences.

We are currently seeking a kind and compassionate Companion caregiver to join our wonderful team, part-time / per diem. If you are passionate about working with seniors and providing them with the greatest quality of life possible, OceanView is the place for you!

Each Companion’s scheduled hours are based on individual resident needs and companion availability. Hours booked are between Monday - Friday 8:30 to 5:00. No weekends, no holidays, no nights, no long shifts! Tell us what hours you can work, and we will do everything we can to make it work. 

Examples of tasks include resident walks, light housekeeping, meal prep, shopping, transport to appointments, and pet care. Companions with CNA and PSS certifications are also able to perform caregiver services. 

The PRO Companion will provide the highest quality of companionship and assistance while promoting overall resident well-being. This position will work collaboratively with the Community Wellness Coordinator to ensure a positive and productive work environment as well as to support and achieve Ocean View’s business goals and objectives. Being respectful of our residents, their families and friends, all visitors and fellow employees is a primary responsibility of this position. The person in this position must always be dressed in professional attire and wear an OceanView identification badge while on campus. The person in this position must possess a valid Maine driver’s license in good standing and a reliable, clean automobile that is fully insured to provide residents with safe transportation.

Requirements

EXPERIENCE

Minimum of one year of experience caring for geriatric clients required with home care experience preferred. Excellent verbal and written communication skills and good command of the English language required

EDUCATION

High school diploma or GED is required.
