The Challenge
As a Senior Technical Writer, you work with the team of technical writers to create comprehensive and easy-to-understand knowledge base content and release materials for a range of products. You collaborate with subject matter experts (SMEs), product, and localization team to ensure accuracy and broad outreach.
Your Mission
- Create and manage our knowledge base content including technical support documentation, release materials, and user guides
- Acutely aware of the audience and defers voice and tone to meet the needs of the user as well as the goals of the product
- Consider overall information architecture in both writing and while reviewing; think through what the user needs at the point of learning to reduce cognitive overhead
- Adapt communication style to most effectively share updates to key stakeholders and effectively and accurately share credit for ideas and collaborative efforts
- Develop new plans and projects for our documentation, creating one-page proposals on how we might level up to better serve our users and/or business needs
You Are
- You are someone with strong planning, research, estimating and writing skills who exercises independent judgement and acts independently to determine methods and procedures. Given your subject matter expertise, you additionally focus on developing formal networks across various departments.
Your Experience Includes
- Bachelor’s Degree in a technical-adjacent field (CIS, MIS, Engineering, etc.) or professional writing (technical writing, journalism)
- Strong academic or professional writing samples preferred
- Minimum 4 years of related experience
- Experience with technical writing tools: Adobe Madcap Flare, Adobe FrameMaker, or Adobe RoboHelp
- Comfort with basic image manipulation (cropping, adding mark-up, etc.)
- Familiarity with agile development
- Familiarity with HTML/CSS
Extra Awesome
- Enterprise technical writing experience
- Previous experience with Paligo
- Familiarity with code and bugs found in code
