About the Role
The Director, Program Management will focus on the Program Management process including the interfaces to the Magna Product Groups and Corporate functions like R&D, Sales and Marketing, Legal, Purchasing.
As a key member of the project organization, the Director of Program Management will play a crucial role in the successful execution of the top projects within Magna Integrated Systems Group. These projects will be transferred from Advanced Vehicle Systems and Advanced Manufacturing Innovation, and, when applicable, from Product Groups.
Your Responsibilities
- Lead project prioritization for Magna Integrated Systems, focusing on selecting promising projects to support Magna's growth strategy.
- Interface with Group Project Managers to coordinate and manage awarded MIS projects, ensuring program scope, deliverables, costs, and timing are achieved.
- Lead Program/Project Steering Meeting Reviews to support Program/Project Managers in setting agendas, running meetings, and asking the right questions for successful program launches.
- Track projects and identify high-risk areas through evaluation of timing and financial status, assisting the Director of Product Development in creating corrective actions.
- Provide active program management and engineering involvement as directed by the Corporate MIS VP.
- Develop a working environment that partners with product groups to leverage product innovations at scale.
- Create relationships with group engineering VPs to identify collaboration opportunities.
- Support the team by finding appropriate contacts for help and reviewing interaction status.
- Develop a flexible and innovative process for project prioritization, definition, and development, including gate reviews.
- Assign/delegate process creation to Senior Directors, Directors, and VPs, leading the team through the process.
- Lead the development of collaboration principles and monitor updates.
- Provide feedback, support, and guidance to the team, actively participating in technical collaborations and partnerships.
- Lead by ensuring clear communication of goals, measurables, and program visions.
- Support strategy initiatives with product groups and Magna executives.
- Implement aligned job responsibilities and processes for seamless collaboration with Magna Product Groups.
- Develop understanding of OEM differences and their impact on technology implementation.
- Maintain knowledge of Magna's product portfolio and manufacturing processes for Advanced Vehicle Systems and Advanced Manufacturing Innovation.
- Stay aware of Magna Corporate and group technology needs, searching for relevant technologies.
- Update reports to support Corporate MIS and R&D strategy, keeping Magna organizations and the R&D team informed of program developments.
- Develop strategic relationships with key technical representatives at OEMs.
- Attract, develop, and retain top talent for continuous development.
