Job Summary:
Provides community outreach and is responsible for the day-to-day outreach and communications. Executes overall program communication plans, including developing communication strategies, coordinating communication calendars, scheduling and other program office logistics.
Job Requirements:
Education and Work Experience:
- High School Education/GED or equivalent: Preferred
- Associate’s/Technical Degree or equivalent combination of education/related experience: Preferred
- Professional communication experience: Preferred
Essential Functions:
- Supports the office in a full range of outreach and communication activities. Executes overall program communication plans, including developing communication strategies, coordinating communication calendars, scheduling and other program office logistics.
- Researches communication procedures and conducts audience, web and social media analyses to develop program recommendations. Manages constituent email and mailing lists. Updates media contact lists and creates effective databases. Prepares and distributes press releases and actively solicits and procures local and national media coverage.
- Interfaces with Webmaster to ensure that the website is up-to-date, accurate and accessible, making all programmatic website updates. Implements social media procedures and maintains social media postings, like Facebook and Twitter. Collaborates with the design firm to develop, update and distribute marketing materials, advertisements, promotional mailings, signage, invitations and blasts. Maintains and distributes monthly e-newsletter containing awardee activities. Assists with coordinating program events, specifically annual event marketing and communications. Assists with creating multimedia applications to assist applicants, like video, podcasts and PDFs.
