About the role

Function/Duties of Position

This position will provide implementation of a telehealth intervention for dementia family caregivers. May be located in a shared service/core or work directly under a Principal Investigator (PI) and/or Research Manager/Director. Involved in the conduct of human participants research; is a protocol-trained Professional Guide (Interventionist) for the STELLA Studies.

 

Under minimal supervision, executes research protocol with a high degree of fidelity. Ensures research protocol implementation. Accurately applies investigators’ scientific data into a cohesive format for the protocol document and associated procedures that are consistent with internal and external policies and regulatory requirements.

 

Exercises judgment within defined Good Clinical Practice and HIPAA guidelines to determine appropriate action via reporting mechanisms and structures (Institutional Review Board) in recognizing adverse events, protocol deviations, and other unanticipated study problems and reports to senior staff appropriately.

 

Maintenance and submission of patient data and preparation for quality assurance audits and monitoring. Work closely with statisticians to provide PI and study staff analytics required for dissemination.  Assist with study content creation and development.  Assist with manuscript preparation and dissemination.

 

May include eIRB and eCRIS submissions.

 

Provides education/training for other study staff.

Additional duties as assigned.

 

They will support all other team members (PI, Project Director, Research Coordinator, interventionists, Guides, tech team, data team) in schedule management, protocol compliance and effective communication.

 

Previous human subjects research experience required. Strong interpersonal communication skills and excellent attention to detail a must. Experience in administration group facilitation required. Ability to complete detail-oriented duties while working closely with participants, investigators, study staff and external organizations. Must have ability to integrate information from multiple sources. This work requires use of independent judgement, problem-solving skills and diligent time management.

Required Qualifications

  • PhD in relevant field AND 1 year of relevant experience OR Master's Degree in relevant field AND 5 years of relevant experience OR Bachelor's Degree in relevant field AND 9 years of relevant experience
  • Study coordination experience
  • Use critical thinking skills to anticipate and address potential problems
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills and excellent attention to detail

Additional Details

  • Typical schedule: M-F
  • Will work combination of remote and at the Hatfield Research Center (OHSU Hospital)
  • Work schedule may vary depending on job/study requirements
  • May have regular exposure to noise and interruptions
  • Able to sit at a computer without a break for 60 minutes
  • Use of videoconferencing equipment (headphones/camera)
