- $14.00-$15.50 per hour
- Reports to Recreation Supervisor- Arts and Events
- Located at Eden Prairie Art Center (7650 Equitable Dr., Eden Prairie, MN).
- Position runs from June- August 2026. Hours will average 15-20 hours per week and will vary based on needs: weekdays, evenings and weekend availability required.
Responsibilities
The Youth Art Program Assistant supports the Art Center and Theatre Camp Instructors, helps with development and implementation of daily camp activities, assists with supplies, coordinates drop-off and pick-up, and supports the Art Center, Theatre Camps, and Events programs as needed. The primary position responsibilities and areas of impact are:
- Assists with program policies and guidelines, as well as implementation of class curriculum.
- Support students in their learning and behavior.
- Ensures student needs are met through personal recognition and providing quality service.
- Monitors the well-being of all participants throughout program.
- Supply coordination support; drop-off and pick-up coordination, lunch supervision.
- Ensures that a safe and healthy environment exists for participants and staff.
- Enthusiastic to perform requested job duties and commitment to excellence.
- Provides in-class support for instructor and assists with set-up and clean-up as needed.
- May be requested to assist with various event duties as needed.
While these areas are the primary focus of this position, we believe strongly in teamwork and employees will be called upon to perform a variety of duties as a part of their role with the City.
Requirements
- Must be at least 16 years of age by position start date.
- Must have the ability to work entire summer season.
- CPR and First Aid certification preferred.
- Experience working with children or youth is required. Experience in visual arts or performing arts preferred. Experience implementing programs and supporting children or youth preferred.
- Candidates must successfully complete and pass the City’s evaluation of the pre-employment process prior to their first day of employment. Pre-employment processes for this position includes professional reference checks, background check, driver’s license check, work history verification and education verification if applicable.
