What You Will Do:
We are currently searching for a Scientific Research. This role will perform scientific and technical services in support of research by the Division of Intramural Research, in the National Heart Lung and Blood Institute in cardiovascular intervention. This is a full-time opportunity located in Bethesda, MD.

• Design and develop advanced algorithms that combine image processing, pattern recognition, and machine/deep learning techniques to estimate the 3D geometry of interventional cardiovascular devices from simultaneous bi-plane X-ray projection fluoroscopy and enhance the accuracy of 3D localization within the human body.

• Integrate the developed algorithms with current imaging systems to align with the clinical workflow of cardiac catheterization procedures and facilitate smooth operation.

• Design and test electronic circuits and systems tailored for the acquisition and processing of biopotential signals, according to cardiologists’ needs.

• Perform comprehensive MRI safety testing of custom and off-the-shelf cardiovascular devices to ensure compatibility with clinical MRI scanners and meet safety standards for patient care.

• Build unique production methods and systems for production, participation and conducting FDA tests of prototype devices.

What You Will Need:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or related discipline.

• A minimum of TWO (2) years of experience and knowledge in proper laboratory methods and safety procedures.

• Basic knowledge of Cardiovascular Magnetic Resonance Imaging and x-ray generators iStrong knowledge of laboratory facility policies and regulations.

• Experience in developing algorithms

• Machine learning

• Medical Imaging

What Would Be Nice To Have:

• Masters in Biomedical Engineering, Engineering, or related discipline preferred.
