Biomerics is a leading provider of laser processing services and contract manufacturing of medical components and assemblies to a wide range of customers throughout the United States and internationally. The company develops and implements leading-edge part-specific manufacturing processes utilizing such high-tech manufacturing tools as rapid prototyping, automation, PLCs, robotics, and vision systems.
The Material Handler plays a crucial role in our operations, moving materials to support production needs. They ensure inventory accuracy in the electronic inventory management system and by physical location. Their contribution to our mission includes cleaning and organizing the work area and monitoring and maintaining material handling equipment, including routine maintenance as necessary. This hands-on role requires sitting, standing, lifting, and squatting throughout the day. This position is essential to support the department in maximizing customer satisfaction for both internal and external customers.
Requirements
Physically locate and maintain designated inventory locations as necessary.
- Transfer materials before, in-process, and after-production activities utilizing in-house ERP.
- Affirm work orders as provided and prepare all required components for production, including issuance of materials to work orders utilizing in-house ERP system, and returning inventory to stock that was not issued to a WO.
- Report raw material shortages to Purchasing and Planning.
- Complete physical inventory counts to verify inventory accuracy by component and location.
- Ensure optimal customer service by assisting internal and external customers with accurate and timely responses to inquiries.
- Report problems with quality, processes, equipment, or materials to the Work Center Supervisor and/or Warehouse Manager.
- Complete training records and other documentation as required.
- Complete routine tasks with minimal supervision.
- Maintained clean and organized warehouse and raw material storage areas to facilitate manufacturing functions.
- The work environment may include areas within a Cleanroom.
- Comply with policies, guidelines, and regulatory requirements of the Biomerics Quality System.
- The Work Center Supervisor and/or Warehouse Manager may assign other duties as necessary.
Job Qualifications
· Strong communication skills.
· Ability to follow instructions and guidance documents.
· Ability to read and comprehend instructions written in English.
· Ability to complete paperwork in English.
· Ability to apply general math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division).
· Ability to use basic computer applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
· Ability to use a computer-based ERP system.
· Ability to stand for long periods of time.
· Ability to do repetitive work.
· Ability to lift or move 50 lbs. objects.
· Ability to operate warehouse equipment.
· Ability to work in a warehouse environment with fluctuating temperatures.
· Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
