The Learning Management System Specialist is a key role on the Learning and Leadership Development Team. The LMS Specialist has in-depth knowledge of the Learning Management System (LMS) capabilities and uses this knowledge to consult with course owners and instructors in setting up learning activities. The LMS Specialist provides day-to-day learner support for end users and manages a service request queue. The person in this role is expected to track trends and work collaboratively toward continuous improvement and innovation. Other responsibilities include report configuration, content uploading and testing, course creation, and partnering with the Learning and Leadership Development team and HRIS to ensure a positive learning experience for our audience by taking full advantage of system capabilities.
- Monitors the performance of the LMS to ensure it is functioning optimally and securely.
- Validates automation of learning assignments is maintained to ensure a smooth onboarding process for new users.
- Provides tier 1 technical support to all levels within the organization that include troubleshooting technical issues and providing assistance to end-user. Primary source of contact with HRIS to escalate system issues and ensure the LMS is effectively meeting organizational needs.
- Analyzes data in the LMS by tracking user progress and generating compliance reports for learning assignments. Ensures data integrity and checks for process improvement opportunities.
- Monitors quarterly updates to the LMS and communicates those to manager and key stakeholders. Completes regression testing prior to the update going into production to ensure seamless operation of the LMS production environment. Immediately reports any issues to manager and HRIS during testing process.
- Responsible for the LMS library content management by reviewing, updating, testing, and publishing course versions prior to assigning individual learning or creating learning assignments.
- Responsible for tracking of onboarding and annual regulatory curriculum and role specific assignments for clinical/non-clinical employees.
- Participates in information exchange with key stakeholders and other Learning & Leadership Development team members to identify best practices and optimization of use of LMS.
- Responsible for reviewing department inbox to support employee inquiries related to LMS, etc.
- Working knowledge of an integrated learning management system (LMS) such as Oracle, Workday, or Cornerstone.
- Expert computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel).
