Senior Software Test Engineer - Cloud Mobile Gateway

The team you'll be part of

The Nokia Cloud Mobile Gateway (CMG) goes beyond network virtualization with an optimized cloud-native software design that supports the evolution of advanced 4G, IoT/MTC and 5G services. It delivers the high performance and subscriber scalability to address the growth in users, devices and applications, and the associated demands for high bandwidth and lower latency. The CMG supports multiaccess connectivity by converging multiple mobile gateway functions onto a single, general-purpose computing platform while offering multiple configuration options that provide deployment flexibility.

 Our team focuses on delivering cloud based network services to communication service providers, web-scalers, and enterprise customers. We are looking for highly motivated individuals to join our software testing team located in Athens Technology Center and work together with very talented engineers, in a technically challenging and stimulating environment.

What you will learn and contribute to

• Develop, modify and execute software test plans.
• Support, lead, develop, partner, and implement automation strategies for large and small features on CNS CMG product. 
• Design, develop, script, execute, and maintain sophisticated tests to verify conformance of features and their functionality implemented by Engineering against requirements specifications laid out by Product Management
• Be responsible for driving features to completion (ready for GA release) and will therefore be in close contact with software developers, test engineers, tools engineers, product managers, technical documentation writers, and support teams to deliver feature functionality in the CMG product.
• Play a role in system design so that Quality Assurance is considered throughout the entire lifecycle of the product.
• Follow all Nokia Information Security policies and guidelines including ISMS (ISO27001 program).

Your skills and experience

 You have:

• BSc or MSc in Telecommunications, Computer Engineering, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Information Technology or equivalent degree.
• Experience with test strategy planning and execution.
• Experience with test automation and scripting languages such as Python, Tcl, or Ksh/Bash.
• Knowledge of networking protocols such as IPv6/IPv4 and TCP and troubleshooting.
• Aptitude for methodical problem troubleshooting and solving, good communication skills, attention to detail, and ability to work well in a close-knit team.
• Ability to work independently having strong sense of ownership and responsibility and eager to learn state-of-the-art technologies quickly.

It would be nice if you also had

• Knowledge of and experience with 3GPP standards (UMTS, LTE, 5G).
• Experience with packet core network elements, such as PGW, SGW, SMF, and E2E call flows for 4G and 5G.
• Experience with NFV (Network Function Virtualization) and related technologies such as Kubernetes, Openstack, VMware, KVM/QEMU.
• Experience with network monitoring tools, such as Wireshark, to analyze messages transmitted and received.
