Primary Purpose of this position:

To perform estimating, pricing and sales of rebar contract projects including maintaining bid and sales data, performing material take-offs, the set up and maintenance of project files, project management, invoicing, and when necessary collecting past due accounts.

This position would also require the processing of service center related customer inquiries and orders, written or verbal, in a timely and professional manner as well as preparation of associated sales order documents (bar lists, fab tags, bol’s, etc.) necessary for production and shipping, as well as accurate and timely customer invoicing.

Essential Job Functions:

All of the essential duties of Rebar Service Center sales plus the following:

1. Develop and maintain strong relationships between the rebar sales, rebar production, and rebar engineering departments.
2. Perform rebar material take-offs and compile estimates utilizing customer’s project documents, specifications and bidding instructions.
3. Review estimates and proposals for accuracy prior to bidding, determine pricing, prepare quotes, follow-up bids, and negotiate whenever possible.
4. Provide support to and assist with service center sales. Prepare sales orders, pricing, and invoicing in a timely professional manner.
5. When necessary, prepare material lists from contract documents for direct to the shop fabrication (without rebar drawings).
6. Develop and maintain strong relationships with all rebar customers.
7. Assist with the development and implementation of DWS marketing strategies on an annual basis.
8. Develop and maintain customer data files (contacts, numbers, etc.)
9. Work closely with the rebar production to provide superior customer service.
10. Assist with developing and maintaining material rebar pricing structures.
11. Other sales-related activities as directed by the sales manager.

6. A good understanding of the rebar shop processes and capabilities.
7. A thorough understanding of concrete construction methods and practices
8. Ability to read and understand A/E design drawings for the purpose of performing material take-offs, lists, estimates and quotes.
9. Excellent knowledge in the use of DWS estimating and pricing software and a basic knowledge in maintaining the systems as needed.
10. Excellent customer service skills and abilities including negotiating skills.

Physical Demands:

1.        Stand OCCASIONALLY over the course of the 8 to 12 hour work shift.

2.         Walk OCCASIONALLY over the course of the 8 to 12 hour work shift.  The distances walked will range from a distance of a few feet to several hundred feet.

3.         Sit FREQUENTLY to CONTINUOUSLY over the course of the 8 to 12 hour work shift.

4.         Lift weights up to 30 pounds OCCASIONALLY from floor to head level, which includes the various prints, books, binders, and papers utilized to perform the usual work duties. 

5.         Lift weights up to 50 pounds RARELY to OCCASIONALLY from floor to chest level, which may include boxes of papers, books, etc.

6.         Carry weights noted above distances ranging from a few feet to several hundred feet.  50 pounds would be carried 50 feet.  Lifting devices are available.

7.        Climb OCCASIONALLY onto steps or ladders.
