INVENTORY CONTROL LEAD

Primary Purpose:
The Inventory Control Team Lead coordinates and directs the daily activities of the Inventory Control Specialists for General Produce. The employee is responsible for ensuring physical inventory matches system inventory to the lot number and pallet ID. Works cooperatively with Quality Control, Receiving, Procurement, Sales, Accounting, and Repack for resolution of discrepancies.
Essential Functions:
•Organize and direct the daily activities of the Inventory Control Specialist Team.
•Supervise and conduct cycle counts of all merchandise stored at the General Produce warehouse on a weekly basis.
•Maintain accuracy of physical inventory to the lot number and pallet license plate to correspond with those in Produce Pro, and process inventory adjustments.
•Work in conjunction with other department heads to ensure processes are followed for replenishment of slots.
•Research discrepancies, missing products, and extra product to determine why product is missing, not delivered, mis-picked, or other.
•Work with appropriate staff and managers for identification and correction of receiving discrepancies on purchase orders, invoices, requisitions, or vendor returns.
•Assist in scheduling new Inventory Team members for their shifts on a weekly basis.
•Responsible for coordination and training for existing and new team members.
•Coaches and provides training of work procedures to team.
•Helps maintain and ensure compliance of all established department goals.
•Ensures the proper use and maintenance of warehouse equipment, facilities, and surrounding areas.
•Ensure the team achieves acceptable levels of sanitation and employee safety.
•Makes suggestions and recommendations to Inventory Control Manager for improvements in areas such as improving productivity, efficiencies, utilization of facilities, equipment, and people.
•Develops positive relationships with all departments and employees and maintains those relationships by supporting and anticipating in effective communication processes.
•Reports regularly to supervisor.

Essential Functions Related to Supervision:
Leads the Inventory Control Specialist Team with guidance from the Inventory Control Manager. Carries out leadership responsibilities in accordance with the organizations policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities may include training employees, assigning work, appraising performances, rewarding, and coaching employees, and addressing complaints and problems.
