As an Associate Director of the Environmental Program, you will work within the Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) framework to design and implement comprehensive environmental programs across multiple sites, ensuring compliance with regulations related to water, wastewater, tank management, air quality, waste management, and EPCRA compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead team of EH&S subject matter experts
  • Develop and oversee environmental compliance strategies, programs, and policies to ensure adherence to federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Lead the investigation and resolution of environmental compliance issues, including non-compliance events and permit violations, and develop corrective action plans as necessary.
  • Conduct root cause analysis to identify and address potential environmental compliance issues.
  • Develop and implement environmental policies, procedures, and programs to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Direct regulatory projects and programs, including creating periodic project status reports, negotiating contracts, evaluating contractor performance, reviewing programs and procedures, and approving vendor and contractor agreements.
  • Collaborate with peers and business unit clients to develop training programs on environmental practices and procedures.
  • Assist the Legal team with environmental tasks by researching background information, evaluating proposed regulatory documentation, ensuring compliance with approved Consent Orders and Permits, and corresponding with regulatory agencies and attorneys.
  • Work closely with operations, legal, and leadership teams to support planning for upcoming regulatory compliance requirements and identify areas for improvement.
  • Provide recommendations and comments on rulemaking, draft permits, and draft ordinances.
  • Offer guidance and support to employees on environmental-related matters.
  • Maintain accurate records of environmental incidents, inspections, training sessions, and other relevant data.
  • Prepare reports on environmental performance, utilizing data on environmental activity and operations to develop executive-level reviews.
  • Analyze health and environmental data to prepare executive-level insights.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Five years in a leadership role with direct reports.
  • Possess a strong background in environmental science, with in-depth knowledge of EHS regulations.
  • Experience with multiple environmental programs (i.e., air, water, waste, tanks)
  • Demonstrate a proven track record of creating initiatives and solutions that result in quantifiable reductions in compliance findings and penalties.
  • Professional environmental certification (e.g., Certified Hazardous Materials Manager - CHMM) is preferred.

  • Proficiency in data analysis and reporting.

Our Lead Financial Analysis, earn between $130,700 - $196,100. Not to mention all the other amazing rewards that working at AT&T offers. Individual starting salary within this range may depend on geography, experience, expertise, and education/training.
