The Revenue Accountant will play a critical role in month end close activities, with specific focus on revenue calculations and billing, accounts receivable and payment applications. The role presents a unique opportunity to navigate the complexities of transacting in both fiat and digital assets in the order to cash process. This person will help us build for scale and assist in the design, documentation and implementation of policies, processes and controls related to revenue.

Technical Skills:

  • Perform daily and month end processes including revenue calculations and journal entries in accordance with ASC 606.
  • Support implementation and design of new software and integration tools.

Complexity and Impact of Work:

  • Manage timely collections and account for A/R related to multiple lines of business.
  • Account for digital asset transactions and identify opportunities for improvements and efficiencies.
  • Assist in month end close activities for multiple legal entities, including journal entries, reconciliations and intercompany amounts.
  • Create and maintain detailed documentation of core accounting processes.

Organizational Knowledge:

  • Investigate and resolve variances resulting from flux analysis and account reconciliations.
  • Perform special, ad-hoc projects in Accounting/Finance as requested.

Communication and Influence:

  • Interface with engineering, client operations and FP&A teams to resolve outstanding items and drive process improvements.
  • Assist with internal and external audit processes to ensure accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting.

You may be a fit for this role if you have:

  • 2+ years of related accounting experience at a Big 4 public accounting firm or in a fast-paced startup/fintech environment.
  • Working knowledge of ASC 606, US GAAP and SOX compliance.
  • A track record of driving strong financial performance and accountability.
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel (Pivot tables, VLOOKUP, SUMIF, IF statements, etc.).
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills and an ability to drive cross functional projects.
  • You self-describe as some combination of the following: able to think outside the box, humble, resourceful, detail-oriented, hardworking, trustworthy, eager to learn, methodical, action-oriented, patient and balanced.
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to self-motivate well.
  • An interest in accounting & finance for financial institutions, digital assets and evolving markets.

Although not a requirement, bonus points if:

  • You’re familiar with SQL, Google Apps Script, or no-code process automation tools.
  • You have a BA/BS Degree with a concentration in Accounting, Business, Economics and/or Finance (CPA preferred).
  • You've kept up to date with the proliferation of blockchain and crypto innovations.
  • You have experience with Netsuite or Bill.com.
  • You were emotionally moved by the soundtrack to Hamilton, which chronicles the founding of a new financial system. :)
