POSITION SUMMARY

Introducing Nestlé Purina’s new Williamsburg Township, Ohio, factory – just 30 miles east of Cincinnati. This world-class factory will be built from the ground up to produce a wide variety of some of the most trusted and beloved pet care brands in the U.S. Our passionate team in Williamsburg Township will work in an environment that values safety, the latest technology in manufacturing and a culture of learning. As the HACCP Specialist, you will lead the factory in ensuring that the factory’s Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP)/Food Safety Plan is fully developed, effective, verified and compliant with all regulatory, internal, and external requirements. You will work across all functions at the factory to outline all food safety risk behaviors/processes in the factory and develop plans to address these risks. You will support numerous aspects of the Food Safety Programs and provide training and coaching on the HACCP plan, pre-requisite programs and food safety for all associates.

 

  • Lead the creation, modification/review, publication and enforcement of the factory HACCP Program and HACCP principles.
  • Act as the subject-matter expert for any HACCP violations or non-compliant situations.
  • Train and coach employees in HACCP and related topics.
  • Review and evaluate ingredients, packaging, chemicals, and significant process/product changes for potential food safety hazards.
  • Active member of the Food Safety Team.
  • Responsible for scheduling and completing all Food Safety/HACCP/Preventative Controls verification activities and audits.
  • Cross-train with other QA specialists, Microbiologists and back-up for the Food Safety Team Leader and successfully fill as back-up for these roles.
  • Participate in continuous improvement activities and uphold Safety and Quality as core values.

 

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • 2+ years of laboratory, quality assurance and/or food manufacturing experience required

Other

  • Associates or bachelor’s degree in science related field (Food Science, Microbiology, Biology, Chemistry, related technical field) preferred
  • PCQI certification preferred
  • HACCP certification and/or experience preferred
  • Familiarity with Food Regulations, Good Manufacturing Practices, Pre-Requisite Programs, Food Plant Sanitation and Hygiene preferred

This position will require travel up to 50% for the first 18 months and will gradually reduce as the Williamsburg Township facility approaches operational startup. The travel will include training at other Nestle Purina operating facilities and will assist with the startup of our Eden, NC plant. 

 

The approximate pay range for this position is $60,000 to $86,000. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to knowledge, skills and abilities as well as geographic location.
