Job Description:

We are GDIT. General Dynamics Information Technology is seeking a Senior Network Engineer for our Air Force customer in Hampton, VA. The GDIT Air Defense Communications Service program and its employees have the responsibility of maintaining 99.999% availability for the DoW/Air Force Air Defense Communications Systems, 7 days per week, 365 days per year.

How a Senior Network Engineer Will Make an Impact:

• Analyzes customer requirements and provides technical solutions to a wide range of difficult problems.

• Performs maintenance and upgrade of networks including servers, routers, switches, firewalls, remote access systems, and networks.

• Maintains network integrity and connectivity while ensuring compliance with policies and maintains system backup and recovery capability.

• Coordinates the acquisition of hardware and software as well as subcontractor services as needed.

• Creates plans and configures systems for data communication networks.

• Designs and builds hardware and software components for computer or telecommunications networks.

• Evaluates new communications technologies to enhance capabilities of the network.

• Maintains current knowledge of relevant technology as assigned.

• May coach and provide guidance to less-experienced professionals.

What You'll Need to Succeed:

• Active Secret clearance (TS eligible)

• Must meet the certification requirement of DoW Directive 8140.01 and 8570.01-M or otherwise stated in individual task order.

• Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNA) (Highly Preferred)

• Enterprise Level Network Experience.

• Onsite in Hampton, Virginia.

• BA/BS or equivalent, 5+ years of experience.

The likely salary range for this position is $85,093 - $115,000. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
