Discovery Land Company is seeking a Security Supervisor.

Summit Security Supervisors are a part of a highly professional team of safety, security and medical providers and are encouraged to contribute their knowledge and skill sets for the benefit of the community and department. Summit Security Supervisors are responsible for the safety and well-being of all members, guests, and employees at The Summit Club. Summit Security Supervisors will oversee their designated shift operations. Summit Security Supervisors will monitor their security employee’s development and assume responsibility for disciplinary actions.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide hands-on and daily operational support for the security team, leading a proactive approach in best securing the Summit Club and its assets located with-in the confines of the property’s boundaries.
  • Provide command, control, and coordination of any critical incident that occurs on property and ensure key club and corporate management are notified and updated. 
  • Work alongside with local emergency services agencies, ensuring legal is informed of their involvement when working within the confines of the club property. 
  • Supervise internal investigations regarding security and safety on property and report findings to security management.
  • Ensure the security officers are complying with the policies and procedures set forth by the Summit security management.
  • Identify all security threats, hazards, risks, and vulnerabilities and assist management in developing mitigating strategies to help counter any threat, while ensuring the security team maintains effective situational awareness.
  • Maintain and oversee a safe and secure residential and working environments for all members, guests, and employees by identifying, treating, and reducing workplace risks.
  • Conduct quarterly proficiency and development training to include quarterly firearm qualification, tactics training, as well as monthly sustainment training.
  • Maintain and enforce the training standards which include use of force knowledge and application, firearm application, defensive tactics, mechanical restraints, search procedures, expandable batons, OC spray and application, crisis management and emergency response.
  • Provide and oversee the medical response capability to members, guests, and employees while on club property.
  • Investigate and oversee any significant incidents or incidents requested by the Security Operation Center (SOC) or security management.
  • Providing emergency management advice in the event of a natural disaster event.
  • Adhere to all company service and operating standards.
  • Ensure the security team is in compliance with local, state and federal regulations.
  • Enforce the club’s health and safety policies involving all members, guests, and employees.
  • Maintaining the personal “concierge” security approach for all members, guests, and employees while on property.
  • Effectively manage use of force incidents, limiting liability, minimizing disruptions, and preventing member, guest, and employee injuries.

Desired Skills, Experience, and Requirements

  • Prior supervision/management experience in Armed Security, Law Enforcement, or Military including special operations at the command level (4 years minimum).
  • Professional, articulate and have the ability to use good, independent judgment and discretion.
  • Special event supervision/management experience.
  • Ability to interact with all levels of management.
  • Reasonable knowledge of security systems management, including access control, CCTV and Ops Center operations
  • Prior experience and training with relevant firearms and defensive tactics.
  • Valid Concealed Weapons Permit (CCW) or HR 218 must be obtained prior to employment.
  • Valid Nevada driver’s license.
  • Valid Armed PILB License.
  • Clear criminal background.
  • High school diploma, GED, or higher education.
  • Must be able to work and stand inside/outside during all weather conditions.
  • Able to physically restrain individuals when the condition to detain exists.
  • Must possess strong oral and written communication skills, along with a working knowledge of basic computer functions and programs (Word, Excel, Outlook Email, etc.)
  • Have the ability to work calmly and efficiently in high stress situations.
