Senior Manager of Operations

The Senior Manager of Operations leads the operations team across the business, ensuring efficiency and high-quality standards. Is responsible for valve assembly, warehouse, quality control and works closely with safety.

Senior Manager of Operations responsibilities include:

• Serves as the head of operations across the organization, driving efficiency, consistency in methods, accuracy, optimum utilization of labor and strong teamwork organization wide.

• Lead staff, including hiring, training, development and providing performance coaching and accountability across operations.  Conducts regular cadence with each employee regularly.
• Leads Operations and Quality Managers at all facilities within Applied Control.  Prepares and delivers safety, customer, vender, Emerson, and National Board audits.  

• Leads assembly and warehouse teams including shipping and receiving, valve assembly at the Englewood and Commerce City facilities. Identifies opportunities to optimize and improve productivity.

• Leads the Applied Control Safety Committee in overall safety protocols and procedures. Implements and enforces safety regulations and workplace standards.
• Partners with managers and leaders of other departments who interact with Operations in an effective and collaborative fashion.
• Responsible for Applied Control facilities, location moves, and other facility related activities and projects across the multiple physical locations.  
• May be asked to lead inventory in partnership with the Inventory Analyst.   Is responsible for periodic cycle counting to manage inventory effectively.
• Is responsible for vendor management for items such as cleaning, snow removal, crating vendors and other partners.
• Set and manage labor schedules, maximizing the efficiency of the teams, while prioritizing the most critical projects. Ensure labor leveling is appropriate and efficient across all facilities. 
• Coordinate with other departments to ensure a smooth production process including the business units, inventory, safety, quality and services teams.
• Monitor use of equipment and ensure it is maintained and repaired as needed.
• Analyze operations data and provide consumable results to upper management.
• Assist in budget preparation and expense management activities.

Senior Manager of Operations Qualifications & Skills

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or manufacturing preferred.  May substitute prior work experience in like leadership role. 
• Requires Industrial/Operations leadership experience, preferably in an assembly or warehouse/production environment, ideally of a team larger than 10 in multi-site locations.
• Proven ability to build, lead and support a team.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and addresses issues timely and effectively.
• Working experience using computer skills, inclusive of Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook and demonstrated proficiency in ERP software, IFS is a plus.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.  Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Knowledge of quality control standards and safety regulations.
• A solid and strong role model of company core values including a culture of integrity, safety and quality workmanship. 
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.  Ability to create and communicate alignment within operations and with partnering departments and functions.

Working Conditions:

• Working primarily in a shop, and warehouse setting with some office work and need to attend meetings. Lifting, bending and standing will be required. This role requires some overnight travel to other locations. This position may require evening, weekend and holiday hours on an infrequent basis.
