Description of Work

This Administrative Associate I position is located in the Mental Health Department at Scotland Correctional Institution located in Laurinburg, NC. houses up to 1,756 male offenders in a close, medium, and minimum custody facility.

Positions at this level require (but are not limited to) processing all incoming and outgoing mail, receiving incoming shipments of supplies, materials, and/or equipment for the Mental Health department. Ensuring the efficient and timely processing of offender and staff mail while in compliance with established DAC policies and procedures. Coordinating research for mental health offender grievances. Performing a variety of office and/or technical tasks, in order to accomplish the specialized processing of information, documents, and/or materials. Scheduling mental health appointments, preparing and maintaining logs/reports, coordinating tracking systems for mental health offenders, and meeting daily and monthly deadlines. Communicating both orally and in writing with offenders, offender families, staff, management, government officials, and the general public.

Our mission is to provide constitutionally appropriate medical, mental health, dental, and pharmaceutical care that meets professional standards. CHS health professionals ensure access to timely, essential, and comprehensive services and programs that support the well being of incarcerated individuals. This care is delivered by licensed staff and through partnerships with private providers and the University of North Carolina system.
