Role Summary

The Regional Compliance Manager, International is a subject matter expert in the Airport Operations & Customer Service (AOCS) compliance program for Alaska Airlines (AS) and/or Hawaiian Airlines (HA). As an individual contributor, this role exercises considerable judgment to make decisions in the development and implementation of action plans based on compliance and safety gaps identified.

Key Duties

• Acts as a subject matter expert in the AOCS compliance program for the assigned geographical region.
• With minimal direction from leadership, exercises considerable judgement to identify and make decisions based on compliance and safety gaps in the development and implementation of station action plans.
• Collaborates with and acts as a resource and subject matter expert for station leadership in identifying compliance/safety gaps, supporting a safe and compliant operation.
• Reviews station audit findings and assesses the accuracy of root cause(s) and the effectiveness, clarity, and sustainability of corrective actions.
• Applies expertise in developing corrective action plans in response to findings from internal evaluation programs and international aviation and transportation security authorities. Ensures that these plans are sufficiently robust, thoughtfully designed, operationally feasible, and completed within the required timeframes to support regulatory compliance and continuous safety improvement across global aviation operations.
• Leads cross-border compliance reviews with international aviation authorities, ensuring seamless integration of Alaska Airlines’ safety protocols in newly launched overseas stations.
• Partners with Quality Assurance to validate corrective action plans were implemented and are effective.
• Guides investigations of significant Ground Irregularity Reports (GIRs) and other incident reports.
• Manages projects to support successful completion of all required audits that station management is responsible for performing.
• Collaborates with and validates management understanding and accurate execution of audit requirements and procedures.
• Through participation in Divisional Analysis Group (DAG) and Safety Review Board (SRB) meetings, reviews and analyzes all available information to determine potential compliance risks and develop mitigation plans and programs.

Additional Details

• Willingness and ability to travel up to 75%, primarily to Japan, South Korea, Australia, and the South Pacific Islands.
• Bilingual communication skills preferred, with proficiency in Japanese and Korean.

Job-Specific Experience, Education & Skills

Required

• 4 years station operations experience focused on airline safety and operating standards, customer service, ground handling, cargo, and security operations.
• A bachelor's degree, or an additional 2 years of relevant experience in lieu of degree.
• Thorough understanding of airline safety and operating standards, as well as customer service, ground handling, cargo, and security operations.
• Minimum 2 years of demonstrated experience leading oversight and corrective action planning for international stations, ensuring alignment with local aviation regulatory agencies.
• Proven ability to assess risk, develop responsive plans, and drive operational outcomes
• Professional work ethic with the ability to engage diverse workgroups directly and constructively
• Must meet airport security clearance requirements associated with access to restricted airside zones within the relevant airports.
• Willingness to travel up to 75%, including extensive international travel.
• Must possess a valid passport or national ID that meets country specific travel requirements.
• Flexibility to work non-traditional hours (evenings, weekends, holidays).
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum age of 18.
• Legally authorized to work in the US.
