JOB PURPOSE:
The Director of the Doctor of Ministry Program is responsible for developing, maintaining, and advancing the Doctor of Ministry Program and managing the coordination of master’s level dual degree programs with partnering academic units. The Director in consultation with the Dean and Associate Dean leads program design, budgeting, and planning; supports teaching faculty; recommends adjunct instructors; organizes and guides student cohorts through their enrollment; and serves as School of Divinity liaison with partnering academic units. With the support of relevant Divinity staff (e.g., the Admissions and Recruitment coordinator and Finance Manager), the Director develops and designs these degree programs’ marketing and recruitment efforts. The Director also conducts D.Min. and dual degrees’ program assessment ensuring compliance with all regulatory agencies as appropriate.

Dean, Associate Dean, and works in collaboration with the D. Min. and MDiv. Faculty Committees
NATURE AND SCOPE:
The Director serves as a career placement counselor and institutional liaison to congregations and social organizations. The Director should be committed to and embrace the mission, identity, and vision of Howard School of Divinity.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Supervise the D. Min. program and dual degree programs, maintaining their size and structure following the school’s strategic plan and vision.
- Foster and guide the cultivation and quality control of each of the D. Min. tracks and dual degrees, and under the consultation of the Dean, Associate Dean for Academic Affairs, D. Min. Chair, and M.Div. Chair, assists in developing appropriate curriculum delivery strategies and recruiting adjunct faculty to teach.
- Support and encourage faculty mentors in their ongoing work with their D. Min. and dual-degree cohorts
- Assist with student recruitment and consult with the Admissions, Retention, and Recruitment Coordinator concerning the application and admission process consistent with the School of Divinity’s enrollment policies and standards
- Manage and coordinate the logistics of each D. Min. track and dual-degree programs
- Monitor student progress and provide assessment recommendations, on behalf of the D.Min. Committee and M.Div Committee, to Associate Dean for Academic Affairs, and Director of Student Affairs, on the merits of granting the D. Min. degree or dual degree as participants complete the programs.
- Develop partnerships and relationships with other D.Min. program directors and representative staff in dual degree partnering units of the University.

- Develop and manage the budget of the D.Min. program and submit financial reports and requests to the Dean and Finance Manager.
