Organization & Team Overview
Corporate Taxation – responsible for all tax filings for all 500+ subsidiaries of Comcast.
State and Local Income Tax. We are responsible for all NBCU and Comcast quarterly and annual state income tax filings. We also file gross receipts returns for the company. Our team is comprised of close to 20 members with a variety of levels and our team leader is our Senior Vice President – Tom Donnelly. We make sure that Comcast Corporation is compliant with all state and local government requirements.
Role Description
The busiest time of year for State and Local Income Tax at Comcast starts in June. We file close to 1,200 state returns on top of other responsibilities throughout the summer. Not only will our Co-ops learn about state and local income tax but we take pride in the technology that we introduce to each of our candidates.
Co-ops work with everyone on our team, including our SVP. Initial training takes place with our first and second year tax analysts and 3-5 year senior tax analysts. Our group also consists of managers, senior managers, and directors. Our team is lead by our two senior directors – Laura Dewees and Kristin Norman – who report to our SVP Tom Donnelly.
Co-ops will be exposed to mostly working on state and local income tax filings that are due in September and October. This would consist of being assigned a company and preparing all the state and local income tax filings for that company. Once the returns are reviewed and signed by our SVP, the Co-op would be responsible for e-filing the state returns. The Co-ops will also help with quarterly tax estimates and many projects as they become due throughout the tax year.
