Purpose of Role
Under Armour is seeking a Director of International Tax to join its Global Headquarters in Baltimore, Maryland. This is an ideal opportunity for a self-motivated, passionate, flexible, and focused individual to join a skilled and passionate global tax team.
The main responsibilities of the role are international tax planning, transfer pricing, tax accounting and compliance US international tax, and compliance all foreign tax jurisdictions.
The Director of International Tax will report directly to the Vice President of Global Tax and will supervise a team of four International Tax Managers.
Your Impact
Compliance, Transfer Pricing, and Tax Accounting
- Responsible for all foreign income, information reporting, and transfer pricing compliance prepared by external service providers.
- Responsible for detail review and oversight of the US international tax calculations - with a focus on GILTI and FTC/FSI, including interplay with §904, §987, and ODLs - as prepared by the International Managers for tax rate forecasting, tax accounting, and compliance.
- Responsible for detail review and oversight of the OECD Pillar II tax calculations, prepared by the International Managers for tax rate forecasting, tax accounting, and compliance.
- Responsible for all global transfer pricing policies and review of the Company’s annual transfer pricing reports prepared by external service providers.
- Responsible for operational transfer pricing, including detail review and oversight of the quarterly and annual calculations.
- Responsible for management of foreign income tax compliance and transfer pricing reporting expenditures to budget.
- Responsible for the Company’s analysis, conclusions and documentation related to uncertain tax positions of US international and foreign tax matters.
Planning
- Responsible for international tax planning and implementations, partnering with our external tax and legal advisors. Includes original analysis of all planning options for proposed business, legal entity, and transfer pricing changes, with consideration of impacts to tax rate forecasting, operations, tax accounting, and cash taxes.
- Perform detailed research within US international tax and foreign tax laws, regulations, and other legal authority and prepare memos to support the Company’s tax positions.
Audit Support
- Responsible for overseeing and/or direct management of foreign income tax audits with external service providers.
- Oversee the facilitation of the quarterly reviews and annual audits of the US international and foreign tax provisions with external financial statement auditors.
Cross-Functional Business Support
- Responsible for overseeing all financing optimization initiatives and tax payment projections for all foreign legal entities; working with UA’s Treasury, Legal and Controllership teams.
- Develop strong working relationships and serve as resource to key stakeholders with an emphasis on internal Controllership, Legal, Treasury, Financial Planning and Analysis, and Human Resources departments and external tax advisors
- Execute on high priority assignments and projects efficiently and accurately
- Respond to sensitive and highly confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Direct supervisory responsibility of four Tax Managers in located in the US (2), Amsterdam (1), and Hong Kong (1).
- Oversight of multiple external tax advisors and consultants globally
