As a Pharmacy Technician Coordinator, you will have the opportunity to work directly with patients while embodying our “Patients First” motto every day. In this role, you will foster positive relationships, promote engagement and coordinate onboarding and training activities. You will support the compliance and audit process of pharmacies to assess compliance with Florida State and Drug Enforcement Agency requirements for the management of controlled substances with the active involvement in the implementation of a new support software program. A Pharmacy Technician Coordinator manages daily workflows related to the technical aspects of pharmacy operations and collaborate with vendors as well as nursing and anesthesia leaders.

In this role you will impact policies, procedures and project management while allowing you to create the foundation in healthcare that you’ve been looking for as it’s a steppingstone to other roles within the department and Cleveland Clinic. This opportunity offers current inpatient pharmacy technicians the ability to advance their career to the next level.

A caregiver in this role works days from 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m., one remote day per week. This caregiver will be expected to travel to the five Florida hospitals two times a year and is eligible for mileage reimbursement.

A caregiver who excels in this role will:

  • Coordinate daily workflow of pharmacy technicians and department operations related to technical work.

  • Maintain and foster relationships to support the engagement, training and success of pharmacy technicians.

  • Manage training plans, schedule and support onboarding and training of pharmacy technicians.

  • Participate in pharmacy technician scheduling, under the direction and supervision of Pharmacy Manager and Assistant Manager.

  • Contribute on projects teams and supports department continuous improvement processes.

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

  • High School Diploma OR (GED)

  • Inpatient experience dealing with controlled substances 

  • Excel experience

  • Two years of experience in a healthcare OR related setting

  • Upon hire, must be a Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) through the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) or the National Healthcare Association (NHA)

  • In addition to the above requirement, upon hire, it is required to hold an active registration through the Florida Board of Pharmacy (OBOP) as either a Certified Pharmacy Technician, Registered Pharmacy Technician, or Pharmacy Technician Trainee

  • Please note: Caregivers with active Pharmacy Technician Trainee or Registered Pharmacy Technician registrations are required to update their registration to a Certified Pharmacy Technician registration with the OBOP within 6 months. e

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

  • Outpatient experience

  • Experience in health-system pharmacy

  • Bachelor’s Degree

  • Completion of an accredited pharmacy technician program
