THE ROLE

The Food and Beverage Manager for the Maryland Club is based out of the XFINITY Center in College Park, MD and reports to the General Manager. The role oversees the day-to-day operations of the Maryland Club, game day suites/court side service, training and managing the hourly staff, leading by example of genuine hospitality and establishing member relationships.  This role will also spearhead staff training and recruitment, developing operational procedures, and set the stage for a successful opening

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Oversee the reception team and flow of guests within the club by managing the POS / reservations system, executing all requests and possible accommodations for members.
  • Ensure quality and consistency of food and beverage, member experience, hospitality, staff performance and vibe of the club space.
  • Maintain contact with kitchen staff, management, serving staff, and customers to ensure that dining details are handled properly, and customers' concerns are addressed.
  • Manage operations of suites catering and service on game days, in addition to in seat and court side bar service on the court level of XFINITY Center on all home game days.
  • Oversee day to day operations including staff assignments, side-work supervision, inventory management and closing procedures including cash handling and POS reporting. 
  • Conduct pre-shift meetings to inform staff about daily features, events, VIP guests reservations, instill positivity, motivation, and ongoing education and enhancement of service
  • Inspect dining and serving areas, lounge spaces, bar and service areas to ensure cleanliness and proper setup
  • Supervise and coordinate activities of dining room staff to ensure that patrons receive prompt and courteous service.
  • Work with Membership Manager to ensure all programming, events, and special occasion arrangements are delivered with ease (ex. Birthdays, Anniversaries, Honeymoons, etc.)
  • Pro-actively deal with guest queries, advising guests on menus and beverage selections, always aiming to exceed the members expectations with food and service, and if necessary, respond to complaints in an expeditious manner.
  • Responsible for ensuring that all financial (invoices, reporting) and HR/Payroll related administrative duties are completed accurately, on time and in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  • Maintains a favorable working relationship with all company employees to foster and promote a cooperative and harmonious working climate which will be conducive to maximum employee morale, productivity, and efficiency/effectiveness.
  • Grow and develop the team through mentoring and coaching, and when necessary address disciplinary issues promptly and fairly following established procedures and necessary conversations to resolve conflicts.
  • Ensure a safe working and guest environment to reduce the risk of injury and accidents.
  • Strong interpersonal skills; can effectively communicate and relate to all levels within and outside the organization; create and build positive and productive relationships.

  • Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 5 years of experience in a fin
