Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Engineer to join our Experimentation Team. You will be working alongside three other Senior Engineers and a Data Scientist to build and maintain our experimentation platform and feature flags. As a Senior Software Engineer, you will play a key role in making a company-wide impact by providing a simple, intuitive experimentation platform that enables data-driven decisions across mobile, server, and web. Our goal is to democratize experimentation and cultivate an experimentation culture at Cash App. The ideal candidate should have strong collaboration skills, technical expertise, and a passion for building reliable, scalable software.

You will:

• Collaborate with team members to design, develop, and maintain our experimentation platform and feature flags.
• Ensure high reliability, scalability, and performance of the platform.
• Work with the team to define, implement, and refine key metrics to measure the impact of experiments.
• Participate in code reviews, testing, and debugging to ensure high-quality code.

Qualifications

You have: 

• 5+ years of experience delivering quality software
• Strong experience with platform backend software development
• Passion for experimentation, high scalability services and operational excellence
• Strong collaboration skills and experience working in a team-oriented environment
• Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders

Additional Information

Block takes a market-based approach to pay, and pay may vary depending on your location. U.S. locations are categorized into one of four zones based on a cost of labor index for that geographic area. The successful candidate’s starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. These ranges may be modified in the future.

Zone A: USD $202,500 - USD $247,500
Zone B: USD $192,400 - USD $235,200
Zone C: USD $182,300 - USD $222,800
Zone D: USD $172,200 - USD $210,400
