About the role

Responsibilities

Peraton is searching for a talented IT Operations Analyst to become part of Peraton’s Citizens Security & Public Services, supporting the DHS DCCO. This position will be local to Stennis Space Center, MS.

 

What you’ll do:

 

The Operations Analyst will be responsible for the following, but not limited to:

 

This position provides 24/7/365 monitoring and alerts for operations and services. Qualified candidates will monitor the current state of the production environment, identify unscheduled interruptions to systems and services when they occur, and perform initial troubleshooting and incident management. This position oversees root cause analysis of problems and service interruptions across the organization, facilitate service and system restoration efforts and communications, working closely with other support teams.

 

Day to Day Work Responsibilities:

  • Provide coverage for monitoring enterprise systems and services on a 24/7/365 shift basis.
  • Identify, report, and handle incidents.
  • Resolve all but unique technical problems without the intervention of management or a more experienced technical specialist.
  • Analyze, assess, document, and resolve software and hardware service outages.
  • Facilitate technical meetings, take detailed notes, and write after-action reports.
  • Communicate, coordinate, and facilitate ad hoc conference calls among service and system Subject Matter Expert (SME) to resolve interruptions affecting production services.
  • Review and respond to and resolve events reported by customers or monitoring tools.
  • Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Escalate problems to management as necessary. Develop and recommend techniques to address problem situations.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma and 5+ years of experience
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen with the ability to obtain a Public Trust.
  • Proficiency in ServiceNow IT ticketing system.
  • General knowledge of firewalls, switches, and servers (Windows Servers, Linux Servers, AWS, Azure).
  • Experience in large-scale computing or network operations centers.

Target Salary Range

$39,000 - $62,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
