Job Description Summary 

We are actively recruiting candidates to participate in our 2025 On-site Summer Internship program. This program is roughly 12 weeks in length and will immerse you into the culture and operations of Lonza Portsmouth.  

The Supply Chain Intern will have the opportunity to assist within Scheduling, MRP Planning functions, and Logistics and Warehousing to support ongoing operations. This will include, but is not limited to the following support activities: 

  • Exposure to high level MPS and demand planning. 

  • Advanced SAP/ERP system training through Michael Management. 

  • Supply Chain projects focused on operational excellence. 

  • Involvement in customer meetings around material demand, shipment, and production scheduling. 

  • Introduction to Access Orchestrate Scheduling software. 

  • Construction of master data to support internal ERP systems. 

  • Tracking of KPIs for inventory management. 

  • Support weekly reporting out of SAP. 

  • Exposure to project planning and execution.  

The internship program begins Tuesday, May 27, 2025 and ends on Friday, August 15, 2025. Potential interns must be able to commit to at least 40 hours per week throughout the duration of the summer internship. 

 

Required Education  

  • Completion of junior year (typically 90 credits) towards a B.S. degree in a related field 

  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 (out of 4) required 

  • Must currently be enrolled in BS or MS Academic Program 

  • Must be available to begin the Internship on Tuesday, May 27, 2025. 

 

Required Skills & Experience 

  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills 

  • Self-motivation and the ability to contribute as a team member 

  • Ability to organize, plan and execute projects 

  • Research skills and attention to detail
