Material Handler II

PRIMARY QUALIFICATIONS

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Minimum 1 year experience in warehousing/manufacturing environment preferred
• Must be able to frequently lift up to 50 lbs
• In-house fork truck certification is required
• Forklift operation skills preferred

 

TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES

• Basic math, reading and recordkeeping skills
• Strong communication skills
• Basic PC skills
• Ability to perform routine work assignments, multi-tasking and following instructions with moderate supervision; ability to work well under pressure
• Ability to understand work procedures, methods, use of required equipment and computerized work instructions
• Compliance with systems/programs similar to Flavor Producer’s Quality, Safety and Food Safety programs.

PROMOTIONS

• Per FP Handbook, to be considered for an internal promotion, employees must meet all minimum qualifications of the position. Employees who were subject to disciplinary proceedings six months prior are not eligible for promotion.

BASIC FUNCTION

• To be able to operate a forklift in a safe manner, to be able to read a picking list and pick materials needed for compounding in either the liquids or powders rooms

 

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES (performs the following)

• Ability to operator all on-site forklifts 
• Ability to put material away in designated racks
• Ability to pick production orders
• Ability to investigate and trouble shoot inventory/picking deviations in Sage
• Ability to perform material movements from location to location in Sage

AND

• Obtain samples for retesting purposes, R&D and/or the lab
• Perform basic cycle counting functions (count and documents weights as assigned stock count sessions)
• Perform all cycle counting functions (printing stock count sessions, documenting and keying in weights in Sage, investigating variance discrepancies)
• Moves material in various size containers that weigh up to 500 lbs using material moving equipment, including but not limited to fork lift truck
• Work in accordance with all relevant requirements including , but not limited to GMP, SQF, OSHA, HAACP, FDA, USDA and internal safety guidelines
• Maintains neat, orderly and clean shop floor and workplace at all times
• Excellent attendance, flexibility, enthusiasm and a positive approach to work performance
