Job Description Summary

Classroom Assistants are responsible for providing basic support and assistance to faculty and students in the classroom.

The requirements listed are representative of the knowledge, skills, and abilities required to successfully perform the duties of the job:

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Helps set-up and break down prop set-ups.

• Cleans, organizes and maintains the props room. Folds drapery. Returns props to appropriate areas on shelves.

• Helps maintain classrooms and storage areas.

• Pick up any materials that get delivered and bring them to Bayou 107.

• Replace Gamsol, gloves and shop towels in the Studios reporting to Illustration faculty or administrative assistant if materials are running low for reordering.

• Maintain Gamsol using established procedures for recycling Gamsol.

• Maintain general order around the sink area. Throw out empty or unused containers and trash.

• Maintain order in fireproof cabinets

• Helps with hanging student work in display cases.

• Polishing silverware as needed.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

• Must be able to work reliable and punctual.

• Must be able to follow written and verbal instructions.

• Must have good communication and interpersonal skills.

• Proficient in using applicable technology and software.

Education and Experience

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• Must be enrolled at Ringling College of Art and Design.

• Must be in good academic standing.
