Senior Data Engineer

Overview

Ready to shape the future of science and global health? ATCC is seeking a Senior Data Engineer for a hybrid role (1 day in office, 4 days remote) based in Manassas, Virginia.  

 

The Senior Data Engineer designs and tests complex data infrastructures, building and maintaining ELT pipelines from various sources. They develop scalable solutions to transform data for analysis, enhancing data flow for faster, easier consultation. This role also involves recommending and implementing cutting-edge technologies for data processing.

 

Our ideal candidate will have proven experience in implementing data warehouses within modern cloud environments and proficiency with Azure, Spark, and data lake technologies.

Responsibilities

• Data Infrastructure Design and Maintenance: Design, evaluate, and test complex data infrastructures to meet organizational needs and goals. This includes preparing and building systems that collect and process data efficiently.

• Data Processing and Analysis: Develop and implement data processing pipelines for ELT, ensuring data is transformed into a useful format for analysis. Perform data housekeeping, cleansing, normalization, and other necessary tasks to maintain data quality.
• Collaboration and Technical Guidance: Collaborate with Senior Management to translate business requirements into technical specifications. Guide lower-level staff in developing and training new methods, and troubleshoot complex problems to identify and implement solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and 5 or more years' experience or equivalent experience.
• Proven experience in implementing data warehouses within modern cloud environments.
• Proficiency with Azure, Spark, and data lake technologies.
