Description
LightspeedDMS LLC is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Staff Accountant to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting principles and financial management, with the ability to handle complex accounting activities. This role requires an individual who can work collaboratively across departments to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting. This role is an exciting opportunity for someone to advance their career within a high-growth PE owned SaaS company.
*** Preferred candidate will live near the Salt Lake City area for occasional meetings onsite. Must be willing to travel for meetings as needed, up to 25%.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the month-end and year-end close processes.
- Prepare and analyze journal entries in accordance with US GAAP.
- Maintain general ledger account reconciliations to support month-end account balances.
- Conduct variance analyses and prepare detailed account analyses and reconciliations.
- Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with GAAP.
- Oversee the accounts payable function.
- Collaborate with external auditors to ensure successful audit results and compliance.
- Assist in the preparation of tax filings and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal government requirements.
- Implement and maintain internal controls and procedures to ensure the integrity of financial data.
- Participate in budgeting and forecasting activities, providing financial analysis, and modeling support as needed.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and drive the implementation of solutions.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 4+ years of accounting experience
- 2+ years of supervisor experience – strongly preferred
- In-depth understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, with advanced Excel skills.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact at all levels of the organization.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team.
