Location Description:

Nestled on the Central California Coast, Adventist Health Sierra Vista has been providing care to our community since 1959. Our 162-bed acute care facility includes a Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and county designated trauma center. Position Summary: 

Pharmacy technicians assist pharmacists in preparing and distributing medications, maintaining the drug inventory, and maintaining patient records.  Pharmacy technicians work under direct supervision of a registered pharmacist and do not perform duties that can legally be performed only by a registered pharmacist.                                    

 

Required Licenses/Certifications:

  • Pharmacy Technician required 

Knowledge and Skills:

Required Training/Education/Experience/Certification:   College courses desirable but not required.  Registration with California State Board of Pharmacy. Ability to perform work accurately with attention to detail within specified time periods.  Ability to work cooperatively with health-system and pharmacy staff.  Ability to handle frequent interruptions and adapt to changes in workload and work schedule.  Ability to set priorities and solve problems.  Ability to respond quickly to emergency requests.  Ability to communicate effectively (orally and in writing).  Ability to assist Pharmacists in meeting the pharmaceutical care needs of neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients.
