Summary




The Ideal Candidate: Tehama Department of Child Support Services is looking for a positive, professional team member with high proficiency in numerical calculations, exceptional attendance, strong communication skills, meticulous attention to detail, strong organizational skills, excellent professional writing skills, ability to multi-task, and proficiency in Microsoft Excel. 

Typical Duties: Payroll, development and coordination of contract agreements, maintenance of information security records, maintenance of financial, personnel, training records for audits; accounts payable, state and county budget preparation, interpret state and local policy, coordinates recruitments, state financial reports, complaint resolution (Ombudsperson), inventory, facility and automobile maintenance, development of Board of Supervisors Agenda Items, proofread reports, administrative support for Director. Ability to learn multiple state and local systems and ability to interpret and apply local, state, and federal procedures. Ability and willingness to provide supervision to clerical staff as-needed (as a Staff Services Analyst II).

About the Department: Tehama County Department of Child Support Services is one of 47 local child support agencies in California. The department manages approximately 2,700 child support cases. Providing customers excellent service is a top priority. Staff are trained professionals ready to assist customers in opening a case, establishing a child support order, determining paternity, modifying their order, and enforcing their order. Examples of duties

  • Performing complex research and analysis of existing and proposed state and local department policies, procedures, programs and systems. 
  • Consulting and coordinating with state and local departmental officials, employees and others to give and receive information.
  • Preparing written reports and making recommendations on procedures, policies, and functional issues and alternatives.
  • Performing effective presentations before various groups; and preparing clear and concise comprehensive reports, summaries, abstracts, correspondence and other documentation.

Qualifications

Staff Services Analyst II:
Pattern 1: One (1) year of full-time experience as a Staff Services Analyst I;
OR
Pattern 2: Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree;
AND
Depending upon the option recruited for, one (1) year of full-time professional experience performing analytical work in the following areas: general administrative, personnel, fiscal, program, or staff development.

Substitution: Additional progressively responsible professional experience performing duties (which require considerable independence performing, compiling, organization and evaluating information and prepared reports) in any of the functional areas noted above may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis.

License & Special Requirements:
  • A valid California Class C driver’s license or alternative form of transportation may be required for some positions
