FAAC Incorporated is seeking an entry level Mechanical Engineer to work with a multi-discipline team, applying engineering expertise to solve design and development challenges.   

Perform a variety of technical functions for a clearly defined portion of an overall project or task, typically consisting of individualized assignments within the context of a larger team. Primary purpose is to serve as an entry-level member of the systems engineering team while becoming proficient with FAAC's technology. 

  

Essential Functions:

Learns, understands, and follows existing FAAC procedures and technology such as, but not limited to: FAAC procedures for mechanical development, concept modeling, design documentation, technical communication, testing, quality assurance, configuration management, and security standards. 

Applies existing procedures and technology to assigned tasks. Assignments can include: 

  • Analysis
  • Hardware Modeling
  • Flow Charting
  • Reverse Engineering
  • Drawing Creation
  • Component Research/Sourcing
  • Execution of Test Plans
  • Investigation of Discrepancy Reports
  • Creation and Maintenance of Development Files
  • Technical Writing to include documentation, report writing, diagrams, charts, and graphs. 
  • Other related duties may be assigned. 

• Uses design and analytical skills for solving problems on assigned tasks. 

• Performs independent work on assigned tasks with frequent supervision; performs related duties as assigned. 

• Documents work performed in accordance with instructions. 

• Reports progress and problems, regularly. Develops skills to understand and respond to supervisory instructions and to communicate aspects of work assignments with coworkers and supervisory staff. 

• Works as an entry-level member of a team responsible for design and/or analysis of specific hardware engineering tasks. 

• Enhances and expands technical skills; increases knowledge of FAAC's business products. 

Requirements

  

Skills 

• Proficient in understanding and communicating in the English language, generally and technically. 

• Working knowledge of interactive computer systems or PCs; familiarity with Windows. 

• Working knowledge of parametric computer aided design (CAD) software such as Solidworks, Creo, Inventor, Catia, or equivalent. 

• Ability to distinguish print on paper and computer screens, and efficiently access, input, create, update, and retrieve information from the computer. 

• Ability to assimilate concepts/technologies and effectively apply the principles to complete entry-level engineering assignments. 

• Ability to problem solve, as necessary, once entry-level engineering assignments are completed and tested. 

• Ability to follow directions. 

• Ability to work independently on assigned tasks with frequent supervision. 

• Ability to be flexible in accepting new assignments. 

• Ability to work well with people and function as an entry-level member of a team responsible for an engineering task or project. 


 Education 

• BS degree in a technical field such as, but not limited to: aerospace engineering, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, industrial engineering.
