Job Description:

We are seeking a Trademark Counsel to join our growing legal network, with a focus on brand protection, trademark prosecution, and portfolio strategy. This role is ideal for a legal professional with 5–10 years of experience in trademark law, looking for a part-time, flexible engagement supporting clients in consumer goods, tech, healthcare, and industrial sectors.

 

Responsibilities:

• Advise clients on domestic and international trademark clearance, prosecution, and enforcement strategies.

• Conduct knockout and full clearance searches and provide risk assessments on brand adoption and expansion.

• Draft and respond to Office Actions, oppositions, and cancellation proceedings before the USPTO and foreign IP offices.

• Manage global trademark portfolios, including renewals, filings, and correspondence with foreign associates.

• Draft and negotiate trademark licenses, coexistence agreements, and consent letters.

• Support brand teams and in-house counsel on trademark use and brand protection strategy.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

• JD or equivalent with active U.S. bar membership in good standing.

• 5–10 years of trademark law experience, including USPTO practice and international portfolio management.

• Strong written communication and client advisory skills.

• Ability to work independently and efficiently in a remote or flexible setting.

 

Preferred Skills:

• Prior in-house trademark or brand counsel experience is a plus.

• Experience working with marketing, brand, or product teams.

• Background in tech, consumer goods, energy, or healthcare sectors is helpful.

• Houston-based or located in Texas preferred, though remote candidates will be considered.

 

Compensation, Benefits & Location:  

This role offers a range of competitive compensation starting at $127,000, and a highly competitive benefits package in the alternative legal services marketplace that includes health benefits, 401k, and more. Axiomites predominately work remotely, with the exception that some clients require on-site presence.
