Primary Purpose of the Position:
Help support the overall vision of business and be responsible for the creation, management and implementation of
day-to-day strategic social media and owned content initiatives. Partner with core Ball business and creative teams
that support the company to bring brand-enhancing work to market, across all social channels and stages of the customer journey.
Manages corporate communications programs:
- Build, maintain, protect, and enhance Ball Corporation’s reputation and brand, and drives social media, owned channel content and public relations initiatives.
- Responsible for the understanding and alignment of Company global/regional objectives, strategies and achievements, and drives communications initiatives.
- Support Executive (ELT) Thought leadership social strategy and management, creating a topic focus track and editorial framework for key leadership external conversations.
- Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with external agency partners. Collaborate closely with agencies to ensure alignment with organizational goals and objectives.
- Copywriting support and approval for regional and team leads
- Responsible for managing Community Management across all of Ball’s social channels (Corp, Packaging, Sustainability, Work at Ballr, etc.).Responding to inquiries, questions, comments, tagged photos. Increased monitoring during identified moments (i.e. Product Launches, Natural Disasters, Policy Changes, Plant Closures, Partnerships, etc.)
Essential Responsible Areas:
- Partner with other team leads, clients, and creatives to develop solutions through market intelligence and simple, meaningful consumer insights. Have a passion for the consumer/end user throughout the creative process and have an appreciation for navigating how social media impacts the overall stakeholder experience. (e.g. Commercial/Sales, Sustainability, B2B, Employee and Partnership Activations)
- Utilize understanding of brand storytelling via social media, from a branding, innovation, sustainability and cultural perspective
- Partner closely with global HR/TA/Comms to identify creative ways to tell the Ball story and highlight its culture, including company events, Community/Foundation efforts, our DEI-focused employee groups, and individuals worldwide. Leading unified content approach across the enterprise.
- Own Ball’s ability to accurately interpret performance analytics to drive optimization recommendations (immediate and longer term).
- Oversee efforts to track daily community management and drive social listening across Ball channels.
- Lead strategy for ongoing optimization to existing social strategy (content pillars, tone & voice, platform strategy, etc.).
- Liaise directly with business teams, senior leaders and partner groups, inspiring them to think about the opportunities for digital & social 'firsts' that wow relevant audiences, while ensuring their professional success.
- Assist in developing our tone-of-voice and advise our brand guidelines.
- Lead gathering global insights gleaned from social and conversational trends, artfully organizing information from observations to strategic implications and recommendations.
- Drive the content strategy for the Ball owned channels, target new followers and increase engagement by staying current on users, interactive trends, best practices, and digital experiences with an eye towards sustainability, aluminum awareness, brand advocacy, recycling, community impact.
Global Social Content Strategist:
- Global managing editor of key communication channels. Fosters and maintain ongoing relationships with global network of editorial team members, keeping a pulse on organization-wide happenings (internal and external), leverage content developed by peers as appropriate and vice versa to meet Ball’s overall objectives. Tracks channel activity.
- Develop thought leadership program for key ELT Members for Corp, Product and Regional senior leaders – spanning sustainability, diversity and inclusion, employer brand, and product innovation.
- Own the creation and production of critical materials, videos, social graphics to support critical announcements, building out social media strategy and content and associated communication activities to support key initiatives.
