Job description:

Overall Job Purpose

·To be responsible for safe and efficient relocating of equipment’s on Low beds, Drill Motivator or manually, fuel bowser operations, cable works for mining needs, which may include setting up of cable towers, laying of cables and skids from the Substations to the Electric Equipment’s to all Electric machines.

Specific Job Responsibility

• Responsible for supervising Lowbed movements, cable works, fuel bowsers refueling schedules, Drill relocations using a Drill Motivator and making sure that a safe working environment for all mine services personnel working in the area of responsibility is maintained at all times.
• Ensure compliance with the requirements of the Mine Safety and Inspection Act and Mines Safety Inspection Regulations in accordance with appointment.

• Demonstrate and promote high standards of housekeeping and any other mine services activity in his area of responsibility.
• Perform other duties as directed by the supervisor

Job Specific Competencies

• Must possess Knowledge of Rigging
• Knowledge of safe handling high voltage cables
• Knowledge of low bed and fuel bowser operations and procedures.
• Ability to multi-task & work well in a team environment

Experience required to perform in this job

• Minimum 3 years’ work experience in a similar position preferably in an open pit Mine with Electric machines

Qualifications

• Full Grade 12 Certificate
• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical/Mining Engineering
• Valid Zambian driver’s license
• Must be Computer Literate
• EIZ certificate
