Compensation range:

$34.02 - $45.93

Your rate of pay will be based on applicable experience

POSITION SUMMARY:

Under general supervision, the Senior Automotive Technician is responsible for performing preventative maintenance and repairs on emergency vehicles. An employee in this position provides services and repairs for fleet vehicles and ambulances. This position is also responsible for keeping accurate maintenance and shop records. The technician reports directly to the Supervisor, Ambulance Logistics and Deployment.

EDUCATION / TRAINING / EXPERIENCE:

Minimum:

Two years’ experience (or equivalent of education and experience) as a mechanic working on the following:

• Both gasoline and diesel engines
• Lube, Oil, and Filter maintenance
• Vehicle electrical systems
• Brakes and suspension systems
• Tire mount and balance

Desired:

One year of experience in ambulance service with Mercedes Sprinter

One year experience working as an ambulance or other emergency vehicle service technician

Knowledge in the installation of 2-way radios, emergency vehicle lighting, and GPS/AVL installation

One year experience in servicing Stryker patient transport equipment

LICENSES / CERTIFICATIONS:

Minimum:

California driver’s license

Eligible to be insured under the Medical Center’s Liability Policy with DMV Report (and minimum age 21)

SKILLS / KNOWLEDGE / ABILITIES:

Able to keep workspace organized, neat, and clean. Work well under pressure. -Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Able to prioritize workload, multitask, and be detail oriented. Perform preventive maintenance inspections at State or other oversight agency levels. Behavior should be reflective of Enloe Medical Center core values.  Must be able to fulfill the essential functions of the position.
