The Manager of Hotel Training Opportunity:
The Manager of Hotel Training’s areas of responsibility include coordinating Hotel staff and student job training, assisting with student and community programs, new staff orientation programming, safe workplace compliance and best practice training, coordinating awareness and access to Cornell University’s learning and development resources, and other duties to support the hotel.
What we are looking for in this role:
- Experience in and/or demonstrated commitment to supporting diversity, equity, access, inclusion, and well-being.
- Demonstrated skill with understanding of cultural differences.
- Proven experience connecting diversity, inclusion, and wellbeing practices to business goals.
- Bachelor’s degree in hospitality, business, or human resources
- Three to five years of relevant experience in hotel/restaurant operations, training, and development and/or human resources.
- Proven track record for planning, developing, and executing training programs.
- Experience writing Standard Operating Procedures and Training / Succession plans
- Superior communication including verbal, listening, and writing.
- Strong platform presentation skills, including the ability to organize and present content, understand, and engage with the audience, ability to self-manage emotional reactions, appropriate use of good humor, proficient with presentation technology, tools, and equipment, and ability to inspire an audience.
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Strong organizational and analytical skills in problem-solving.
- Excellent coaching, counseling, and mentoring skills.
