Regional Finance Senior Manager

<p><b>Job Description</b></p><p><span>Vertex is seeking a Senior Manager Regional Finance to join our fast growing Central &amp; Eastern Europe &amp; Middle East business based in Munich. The individual will report into the Director Regional Finance at our Regional headquarters in Munich, Germany. Main task will be the support of Vertex's D/A/CH and Regional Finance operations as it relates to finance, accounting and internal controls.</span></p><p></p><p><b>Key Duties and Responsibilities:</b></p><ul><li>Finance support for D/A/CH and Regional projects and consolidation</li><li>Business partner to functional leads for all finance, accounting, tax and procurement related topics</li><li>Provide effective leadership facilitating collaboration amongst shared service transactional groups and local stakeholders</li><li>Support planning, forecasting and analysis for revenue, operational expenses and headcount across D/A/CH including tracking of risks &amp; opportunities</li><li>Support local team in analyzing and driving market KPIs</li><li>Partner with local teams in setting and controlling field incentive scheme</li><li>Actively shape D/A/CH market access strategy through scenario modelling</li><li>Support negotiation of reimbursement deals with sick funds, hospitals and governmental authorities.</li><li>Drive rigorous and transparent policies and procedures throughout the organization to comply with local and US requirements including generally accepted accounting principles and Sarbanes-Oxley</li><li>Work with international finance and corporate tax on all local statutory and tax filings</li><li>Support the international strategic sourcing team as it relates to sourcing initiatives</li><li>Occasional international travel required.</li></ul><p></p><p><b>Key Requirements:</b></p><ul><li>Degree in Business (Major in Accounting or Finance)</li><li>Experience working within fast paced environment supporting regional business needs</li><li>Strong stakeholder management skills, able to navigate the corporate landscape, quickly establish credibility and build effective, collaborative, working relationships at all levels</li><li>Demonstrated ability to think strategically, identify key issues and value drivers, and translate strategic insights into an appropriate analytic framework</li><li>Ability to work under pressure while still maintaining attention to detail and effective controls</li><li>Established record in managing multiple and competing priorities</li><li>A track record of proactively identifying problems and gaining consensus on potential solutions</li><li>Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and German</li><li>Advanced knowledge and proficiency of Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint, Microsoft Power BI and financial planning and reporting systems (Oracle Hyperion Planning, OBIEE); proficiency with simulation and scenario analysis.</li></ul><p></p><p><b>Flex Designation:</b></p>Hybrid-Eligible Or On-Site Eligible<p></p><p><b>Flex Eligibility Status:</b></p><p>In this Hybrid-Eligible role, you can choose to be designated as: <br/>1.    <b>Hybrid</b>: work remotely up to two days per week; <b>or select</b><br/>2.    <b>On-Site</b>: work five days per week on-site with ad hoc flexibility.</p><p>Note: The Flex status for this position is subject to Vertex’s Policy on Flex @ Vertex Program and may be changed at any time.</p><p></p><p>#LI-Hybrid</p><p></p><p><b>Company Information</b></p><p><span>Vertex is a global biotechnology company that invests in scientific innovation. </span></p><p></p><p><span>Vertex is committed to equal employment opportunity and non-discrimination for all employees and qualified applicants without regard to a person's race, color, sex, gender identity or expression, age, religion, national origin, ancestry, ethnicity, disability, veteran status, genetic information, sexual orientation, marital status, or any characteristic protected under applicable law.
