Job Description

We are currently looking for a Manager, Capital Finance to join our growing Finance team!  In this role, you will be responsible for modeling, forecasting, analyzing, and managing capital projects from a financial perspective with a heavy focus on broadband grants.  The ideal candidate will provide capital guidance while challenging the status quo and maximizing value-creation for the company. You will drive strategic and tactical business decisions working in a cross-functional environment with all levels of leadership. You will need experience with capital management, strong analytics, excellent communication, and organizational skills, as well as the ability to work in a rapidly changing and fast-paced environment. As the Manager, Capital Finance, your duties will include:

  • Provide transparency into the day-to-day operations of the business by being a trusted business partner to functional teams, partnering with key stakeholders to drive strategic and actional insights with strong reporting commentary
  • Conduct reporting, research, interpretation and evaluation of emerging business trends, including variance analysis to identify areas of risk and opportunities and provide course correcting recommendations
  • Evaluate the performance versus budget for functional capital investment categories
  • Manage the annual and long-term budgeting and forecasting process for Capital Management
  • Provide strategic input into the Broadband Grants team and processes while providing financial modeling, guidance and reporting
  • Establish or refine capital management processes to align with the constantly changing nature of the business 
  • Act as thought leader within the FP&A team by sharing best practices and identifying enhancement opportunities for the team
  • Assess the impact of strategic financial decisions and present recommendations to leadership
  • Identify and assist with implementation and enhancements to financial reporting and planning systems
  • Design, develop and implement methods and strategies to continually improve processes
  • Present to and communicate with all levels of the business.

Qualifications

WHAT IT TAKES TO CATCH OUR EYE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or equivalent work experience
  • Well-rounded capital reporting, planning and analysis background
  • Acts as an owner by proactively identifying challenges and hurdles while thoughtfully recommending solutions 
  • Highly adept in MS Excel with experience building and/or maintaining complex financial models
  • Experience working with planning and reporting tools such as SAP, Looker, Anaplan as well as ERP and accounting systems
  • Comfort with ambiguity, ability to take a vague problem and drive material results 
  • Self-starter with demonstrated flexibility and agility in a high growth environment
  • Excellent analytical, problem solving and communication skills
  • Experience with financial modeling and valuation techniques, business case modeling, NPV/IRR, financial forecasting, and overall knowledge of accounting and budgeting principles
  • Exceptional communication and inter-personnel skills; including one-on-one, group, and presentation formats

BONUS POINTS FOR:

  • Master’s Degree in Accounting or Finance
  • Familiarity with government broadband grant programs and capital reporting requirements
  • CPA designation
  • 5+ years of experience with financial analysis in a large corporate environment
