Job Description:

What You’ll Do

 

As a Senior Manager, you will provide thought leadership and strategic thinking for data governance objectives and how the data produced supports those objectives. Additionally, you will ensure data management standards are followed; support design of optimal data quality and continuous monitoring controls by closely monitoring performance metrics and KPIs to ensure goals are met; actively manage and escalate risk and customer-impacting issues to management.  As a people manager, it is anticipated that you will have a small team of direct reports in addition to hands-on involvement with the work product of the team.

 

How You’ll Do It

  • Provides thought leadership and strategic thinking regarding data management initiatives throughout the entire data ecosystem and with cross-functional partners.
  • Understands high-level business process purpose and impact of data within that process, especially critical data within the process and how to validate/monitor the data supports the business process and desired outcome.
  • Responsible for business and analytic environment gap being bridged while adhering to data quality standards.
  • Provides leadership for Data Steward activities and drives business’ efforts to accomplish data governance objectives.
  • Represents business in Data Steward leadership meetings in Enterprise Data Governance.
  • Participates in the oversight process, including annual review and approval of DFS retention schedule and retention compliance for data.
  • Provides review and escalation path to ensure that data changes are managed with appropriate impact analysis and communication to potentially impacted areas.
  • Understands linkages between systems and applications used to support business process and escalates to appropriate SME if issues arise.
  • Monitors current control environment with the business process and supports continuous improvement with data quality best practices, including automation and preventative, rather than detective, controls and monitoring.
  • Oversees partnerships with the technology and analytics teams to complete business initiatives.
  • Ensures gap between business and analytics environments is bridged with business process definition according to data quality standards.
  • Reports progress and statuses to management.
  • Oversees timely support and resolution as needed.

 

Qualifications You’ll Need

The Basics

  • Bachelor’s degree in Analytics, Business, Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Mathematics, Statistics or related
  • 10+ years of experience in Data management and solutions in a business role
  • In lieu of a degree, 12+ years of experience and solid understanding of Data Management concepts including metadata management, Data Quality, Data Governance, and Data Modeling. Experience gathering data requirements and performing complex data analysis is required. Ability to engage effectively with technical and analytics partners, understand business data requirements and translate to actionable solutions is key. Experience driving adoption of data capabilities across technology groups and enabling data literacy required.

 

Bonus Points If You Have

  • Master’s degree in Analytics, Business, Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Mathematics, Statistics or related
  • 12+ years of information management and data analysis experience
  • 2+ years of people management experience

Compensation:

The base pay for this position generally ranges between $100,500.00 to $170,100.00. Additional incentives may be provided as part of a market competitive total compensation package. Factors, such as but not limited to, geographical location, relevant experience, education, and skill level may impact the pay for this position.
