About the role

Overview

As an Associate Project Manager, you will be responsible for supporting the planning, execution, and monitoring of projects to ensure they accomplish strategic objectives and are completed within scope, schedule, and budget. You will work closely with the project management team, cross-functional teams, and stakeholders to coordinate efforts, track progress, and facilitate communication. The ideal candidate possesses strong organizational, analytical, communication, interpersonal skills, and is an adaptable, self-directed individual with a passion for project management and a desire to grow professionally.

Responsibilities

  • Support the development, implementation, tracking, and reporting of project plans, schedules, budgets, milestones, risks, issues, communication, resource billing, integration, and scope statements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional, matrixed project teams to facilitate day-to-day activities necessary for project completion within deadlines and objectives.
  • Assist in coordinating project development stages, including research, design, programming, testing, and implementation.
  • Assist in the oversight of various systems projects, considering complexity, cost, time-constraints, staffing, and equipment, including software and hardware.
  • Work collaboratively to coordinate development efforts involving multiple products or integration points.
  • Contribute to the quantification of business benefits and assist in defining strategies, visions, and roadmaps for programs.
  • Support evaluations of partnerships and licensing opportunities with external third parties.
  • Facilitate and support third-party reviews for compliance, security, and information governance.
  • Assist in contract negotiations with third parties and support procurement processes with finance and procurement.
  • Support budgeting and accounting processes related to projects.
  • Assist in onboarding, management, and offboarding of third-party individuals.
  • Monitor overall progress of programs and participate in corrective actions to achieve program goals.
  • Assist in executing project planning activities, including scoping, identifying milestones, risks, and issues.
  • Report program progress to senior management.
  • Collaborate across the organization with functional managers to address program needs.
  • Contribute to process improvement initiatives within the organization's delivery processes.
  • Provide guidance to engineering efforts by defining, justifying, and prioritizing product features.
  • Support market research and gather requirements for product development through internal expertise and customer/prospect interviews.
  • Assist Business Analyst in documenting product specifications based on market requirements.
  • Participate in product development process refinement and nurturing.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert and internal consultant within the company.
  • Maintain relationships with key program stakeholders to support program goals.
  • Analyze data to understand current solution performance and identify future opportunities.
  • Provide high-level administrative support to leaders, including handling diverse and complex duties and maintaining confidentiality.
  • Coordinate the organization and maintenance of online content and documents associated with the department.
  • Research, prepare, organize, and analyze data for department needs and special reports.
  • Assist in managing executive calendars, coordinating travel, and event management.
  • Handle logistics and details for department presentations, meeting coordination, and video conferencing.
  • Respond to routine interoffice and external client correspondence.
  • Complete all responsibilities as outlined on annual Performance Plan. 
  • Complete all special projects and other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • 1-2 years of administrative experience, including executive support.
  • Prior project management experience in an agile and/or waterfall environment is an advantage.
  • Scrum Master certification (CSM or PSM I preferred) and SAFe Agilist (SA) certification are a plus.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • Proactive approach with an ability to identify opportunities for executive support.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficient with MS Office applications (Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint) and SharePoint.
